Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are three pillars of HGMA’s positive community-building, as we work to engender a culture of safety and civility. A multiplicity of identities thrive at the Center, demonstrating our dedication to a community that is deeply representative of its members. The origin countries of our teaching faculty are numerous and the faculty also includes different age groups, sexual/gender orientations, and faiths. HGMA’s Board of Directors represents various professions, and the majority of the board members live in nearby neighborhoods such as Dorchester, Mattapan, and Roxbury. HGMA welcomes students from all socio-economic backgrounds—-- breaking barriers traditionally associated with access to formal music education.​​
